Canoeing and kayaking in Oise
Canoeing with friends or family on the Oise near Beauvais? Yes, it’s possible! And you don’t need to know how! From April to September, Camping de la Trye in Bresles organizes fun canoeing trips on the Thérain, between Villers Saint Sépulcre and Moulin de l’Isle, the area after Hermes, in the Oise département.
This route depends on the navigability of the river. It may happen that a tree falls on the water and prevents our passage.
The canoe-kayak activity depends on the weather, which must be favorable. In the event of bad weather or other storms, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone. Canoeing and kayaking is an original and sparkling activity, accessible to all, adults and children alike, as long as you know how to swim.
94.3 km long, the Thérain rises in the Bray region of the Seine-Maritime department. Its fairly straight course flows southeastwards through Beauvais. Its confluence with the Oise is opposite Creil at Saint-Leu-d’Esserent. The Thérain passes 4 km from Camping de la Trye, in Bresles, it comes from Beauvais, for our canoe-kayak outing we chose the section from Villers Saint Sépulcre to the Moulin de l’Isle area, after Hermes.
Terms and conditions
The canoe-kayak trip is open to anyone who can swim 25 metres.
Descent time: between 1h10 and 1h20 (depending on the route)
Total outing time: 2h30 to 3h00 from Camping de la Trye in Bresles.
KAYAK TRIPS , IMPORTANT INFORMATION !
* Kayaking is a fun activity, but not without risks, so a minimum of seriousness is required.
* You are responsible for the equipment entrusted to you: kayak, paddle, vest, helmet, water bottle.
* We cannot guarantee that your gear will stay dry
if your waterproof canister is not closed properly.
* Listen carefully to the instructions you are given before getting out on the water!
* People weighing more than 100 kilos are unfortunately not allowed on board. This is an indication from the manufacturer of our boats.
* Take a change of clothes, a towel and sneakers that can get wet!
There are 1 or 2 stops! (if the route is navigable)
1) 1st stop before the 1st bridge on the left for explanations!!
2) 2nd stop: just after the 2nd red ROAD bridge, on the right, after this bridge!
